Salesforce Audit Trail

Monitor Setup Changes with Setup Audit Trail

In general, Salesforce itself provides a feature/functionality that will track each and every change that we make in our salesforce organization.

  • Audit history is useful in orgs with multiple admins that are working for a single org.

- We can view the Audit trail by navigating through Setup --> Administer --> Security Controls --> Then go to "View Setup Audit Trail".
- Or else simply type "View Setup Audit Trail" in the search box. Then it will take us to the "View Setup Audit Trail" section.

  • In this section, we are able to see just 20 most recent changes to our org. It lists the date of the change, who made it and what the change was.
  • If we would like to verify each and every log, then we need to download the entire log file and then verify the changes.
  • We can only view our org's complete setup history for the past 180 days only. After 180 days, setup entity records are deleted.

Setup Audit Trail tracks the following changes related to,
  1. Administration
  2. Customization
  3. Security and Sharing
  4. Data Management
  5. Development
  6. Various Setups
  7. Application Usage
